Bifrost has successfully removed the Sudo module by referendum | Weekly Report 68

Introduction

Bifrost initiated the proposal to remove the Sudo referendum and voted on and implemented it on 13 September 2021, with a total of 80,324 BNC votes and over 400 voting addresses on the chain, and the proposal went live on the chain one hour after it was passed.

Bifrost has now been upgraded from Sudo governance to a decentralised network governed by council and Referendum, but is still in the POA governance phase. Bifrost will be upgraded to a fully on-chain governed decentralised network when the council and technical committee elections are opened.

With the removal of Sudo, a milestone event, the Bifrost mainnet has officially entered Phase 3 and is ready for the launch of SALP, the opening of BNC, vsKSM, vsBond and other referendum proposals.
